What the weather does to a tour day
Wind and waves matter more than rain. A calm sea means an easy boat ride and clear water over the reef. A rough sea can make a captain swap a stop for a sheltered one, or cancel.
A shower rarely stops a tour on its own. You wait it out under a roof, or you are in the water anyway. A tropical storm is different: the ports close. The hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, by the US National Hurricane Center's count.

Best time of day
Book a morning boat if you can. A morning trip leaves the afternoon spare if the sea turns and the trip moves.
The midday sun is strong in every month. Wear a hat and a long-sleeved shirt on the boat and at the beach. The reef operators ask for a reef-safe sunscreen or a rash guard.
