What that means in practice

The tours listed here are sold through Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.

What we are not

We are not a tour operator. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.

We have no connection with the Roatan Marine Park, the Honduran Institute of Tourism, the Bay Islands municipalities, the cruise lines, the port operators or any tour operator.

How tours get listed

Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. A badge on a card is a measured claim: Top rated only on a tour rated 4.9 or higher, Best seller only on the tour with the most reviews, Best value only on the cheapest. Roatan Adventure Tours' customizable full day carries Best seller, the hydrobike, reef and private-island day carries Top rated, and Roatan Fun Tours' VIP private day carries Best value; it shares the lowest fare with the customizable day. A platform's own badge, such as a certification, is not shown.

The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different kinds of day: the reef by snorkel boat, a private driver-guide for your own group, and a shared small-group day with a sanctuary, tastings and a beach.

Prices, ratings and how current they are

Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 21 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Every fare is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing is converted at an exchange rate. Every fare here is per person, the private tours included, and that is the listings' own statement rather than our reading of them.

The facts about the reef fee and the Bay Islands National Marine Park are the Roatan Marine Park's own, read from its pages. The island's size, towns, airport and ports come from the Wikipedia article on Roatán, and the hurricane season is the US National Hurricane Center's. Where a detail comes from a listing, such as a meeting point, a gate number, a surcharge or a beach pass, it belongs to that tour.

What we deliberately do not publish

Sea temperatures and visibility. We found no official table for the water off the island, so we give none.
A sunscreen ban. The marine park's site names a sunscreen initiative, but its page did not load, so we say only that reef operators ask for reef-safe sunscreen.
A cruise-line guarantee for independent tours. Some listings promise an on-time return; that is the operator's promise, not the cruise line's, and we attribute it.
The time difference from your ship. Operators warn that ship time and island time can differ; we relay the warning rather than a figure.
Ferry times and fares. They are the ferry companies' to publish and they change.
The date Isla Tropicale opens under its new name. The listings already use it; we found no official date.
Rankings. "Best beach in the Caribbean" and similar claims are not measured ones.
Wildlife as a promise. Turtles, dolphins or any animal on the reef may be seen; none is guaranteed. No fare promises that you can hold a sloth.
